During this time with the COVID-19 crisis Stewart Properties has adopted the following protocols to ensure that we can remain open and provide housing to those who need it.
While we are choosing to stay open and are currently not working remotely, we ask that during this time that you do not stop by in person wherever possible. We can be reached by call, text or email if you need us and can be contacted to arrange rent payments if you normally pay in person.
This information as well as a contact form can be found on our Contact Us page. Please also note that our Facebook page will be updated regularly to reflect our operating hours, changes in processes as well as links to resources for those affected.
As of right now, we are still taking applications for properties that are available and completing move ins and move outs but our process has changed.
→ If you are looking for a suite, applications must be submitted PRIOR to requesting a viewing on a property. These can be found on our Contact Us page and emailed, faxed or a picture taken and texted in.
We are working diligently to get video tours of our available properties uploaded for potential tenants in lieu of physical walk through viewings at this time to try and limit person to person exposure. We are hoping that this is an acceptable alternative during a time where social distancing should be taken seriously.
→ If you are moving in, a suite condition form will be completed prior to moving in with a copy being sent to you to review. Issuing of keys will be arranged to limit exposure between persons. Lease agreements will also be filled out separate from meeting one on one with a new tenant, often times through electronic means.
→ If you are moving out, you will be asked to drop the keys off at our office and walk through will be completed without the tenant being there. We will contact you when this is completed to discuss the return of your damage deposit where applicable.
→ If you require maintenance, contact us by one of the previously mentioned routes. At this time please indicate if you or anyone in your household is or has been ill. If it is deemed an emergency maintenance will be dispatched to remedy. If it is deemed a non-emergency it will be placed on a list of items that will be dealt with when social distancing measures have been lifted. Our main priority is the health of our staff so that we can continue to provide as much "business as usual" as possible for our tenants during this time.
Please ensure you are keeping your eyes on the Government of Canada website for information regarding updates to the status of the COVID-19 virus, government rules and laws to help the spread of the virus, as well as information about government aid available to those who can no longer work due to business closures.
